Mary Jane Hafer was born in June 1929 in Reading, PA. She died on 11 July 2012 at the age of 83 in Virginia. Married Robert A. Hindle. Mary operated a book store for years in Shinglehouse, Potter County, PA. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed music, gardening and dancing with Robert. In 1988 she resided in Altamont, NY, and lastly at West Chester, PA. She died at the Hermitage in Onancock, VA, and was buried at the Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester, PA. She was survived by 3 children: Christopher Ren Hindle and his wife Claudia of Brazil; Roberta Susan Webb and her husband Ken of West Chester; and Jonathan Matthew Hindle of Potter County.

-Reading Eagle. Mary J. Kreisher, age 85 years, of Bern Twp., formerly of Reading, passed away Thursday, March 20th, peacefully, at Berks Heim. Mary was born in Reading on February 13, 1929, a daughter of the late Mary A. (Moore) and Allen D. Hafer, and was the widow of Harold E. Kreisher, who predeceased her in 2005. She was employed as a sewer at Crystal Brands (David Crystal) for 12 years, retiring in 1992. She is survived by her daughters Barbara A., wife of Eddie Roberson, of Virginia Beach, VA; Peg E., wife of Lonny Epler, of Mohnton; and Paula F., wife of Mark Iwanowski, of Mohnton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Services are private at the convenience of the family. -Published in Reading Eagle from May 8 to May 9, 2012. Mary Lou Zientek, 82, Exeter Township, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Carmen LaPorte. Her first husband, Dr. Leon T. Zientek, passed away in 1996. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Roy Hafer and Louise (Himmelberger) Hafer. She was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., Exeter Township. Mary Lou was a graduate of Wernersville High School and the St. Joseph School of Nursing as an RN in 1951. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Hospital Women's Auxiliary and former President of the Reading Central Catholic High School Mothers Club for many years. Surviving are two sons, Barry T., husband of Stephanie M. Zientek, of Exeter Township and Michael J., husband of Kimberly J. Zientek, of Wernersville; two daughters, Dianne L., wife of Thomas Dachowski, of Reading and Marilee A., wife of David Noesges, of Carmel, Indiana; nine grandchildren: Kristina Cossitor, Jeffrey Zientek, Michael Dachowski, Matthew Dach-owski, Samantha Zientek, Sophia Zientek, Ethan Zientek, Elizabeth Noesges, and Christa Noesges; seven great-grandchildren: Austin, Kate, Cross, Hannah, Madison, Ella and Michael; and two sisters, Shirley Wren and Suzanne Kutz, both of Millville, DE. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Hafer. The family will receive friends today, 7 to 9 p.m., in the Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Penn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Twp. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Twp.
