Robert Dale Hafer, 79, of Oley Township, passed away January 17, 2014 at 8:07 a.m. in his home. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Matz) Hafer. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Arthur and Alice (Reed) Hafer. Mr. Hafer was a 1954 gaduate of Mt. Penn High School and served in the United States Air Force Reserve. His family owned and operated Reiffton Food Market. He was employed by Glidden for 28 years as a paint manufacturer, retiring in 1998. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hafer is survived by his daughters: Kimberly S. Hartenstine, wife of Lane G. Hartenstine Jr., of Oley Township; and Keily D. Johnson, wife of Morris W. Johnson, of Mt. Penn. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tyler G., Abagale S. and Landan D. Hartenstine; and Tony L. and Kayla L. Johnson. Also surviving are his brothers John D. Hafer of Phoenix, Arizona, and Timothy R. Hafer, husband of Nancy Hafer, of Mohnton. Funeral service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Richard R. Green officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends

        Ray M. Hafer18,44 was born on 27 November 1890 in Reading, PA. He died on 29 June 1971 at the age of 80 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Good Shepherd "Hinnershitz" Church, Tuckerton, PA. Died at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient for 5 days. Obit has him buried at Forest Hills Memorial Park. He was employed as a store manager in Lebanon, by the J. A. Yerger Oil Company. He was a member of Goodwill Fire Company, Hyde Park. Surviving are his second wife, Ethel M. (Garman) Hafer; two sons, Herbert and Robert, both of Reading; two daughters, Mildred, wife of William Herbine, Riverview Park, and Shirley R., widow of Paul P. Neiman, Midvale Manor. Also a brother Guy M. Hafer, Menlo Park, CA; and a sister Fay, widow of Samuel Rittenhouse, Lorane.
        Ray M. Hafer and Marion L. Hain were married on 8 March 1913 in Reading, PA. Marion L. Hain44 was born in 1889 in Reading, PA. She died in 1936 at the age of 47 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Good Shepherd "Hinnershitz" Church, Tuckerton, PA.
