        Richard Peter Hafer was born on 24 January 1924 in Reading, PA. He died in May 1969 at the age of 45 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Mount Penn, PA.
        Richard Peter Hafer and Virginia Martha Folk were married in December 1947 in Berks County, PA. Virginia Martha Folk18 was born about 1927 in Reading, PA. She died on 15 January 2007 at the age of 80 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Mount Penn, PA. Virginia M. Hafer, 80, Reading, died in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since December. She was a daughter of the late Lewis and Martha (Regovski) Folk. Hafer was employed for many years as a seamer by the Berkshire Knitting Mills, retiring in 1957. She also is survived by a son, Gary R., husband of Marjorie L. Maddox Hafer, Williamsport. Other survivors include a sister, Muriel (Folk) Marcinkowski, Reading.

Robert Howard Hafer Sr., 82, died July 25, 2012, in his Lincoln Park residence. He was the husband of Palma F. (Volpiccini) Hafer, whom he married Nov. 3, 1956. Born in Boyertown, PA, on May 6, 1930, he was a son of the late Howard A. and Anna G. (Reidenauer) Hafer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1947 until 1956 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed 30 years with Rockwell International, Wyomissing, retiring in 1990 as a superintendent. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 945. He is also survived by two children, Anne L. (Hafer), wife of Jeffrey C. Case of Spring Township, and Robert H. Hafer Jr. of Lower Heidelberg Township. Other survivors include four siblings: Jackson, husband of Carol (Slater) Hafer of Exeter Township, Nancy (Hafer), widow of Charles A. Miller of Reading, Betty Lou (Hafer) Herb of Reading, and Beatrice (Hafer), widow of Blair Kingree of Boyertown. There are also five grandchildren: Ryan J. Case, Jessica H. Case, Robert H. Hafer III, Michael W. Hafer and Rachel M. Hafer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 905 Chestnut St., (Union Township), Douglassville, PA 19518. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
